Zulfiqar Soomro was born and raised in Pakistan, however, at the age of sixteen, he emigrated to America along with his family. His educational journey started at Queensborough Community College and later graduated from The City College of New York with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. His leadership experience includes being Director for NYPIRG, Vice-Chair of Fiscal for University Student Senate, and many other leadership positions. This helped him to advocate and represent 500,000 CUNY students. Furthermore, he has ample administrative experience creating memorandums and budgets. In addition to these experiences, he gained considerable more by observing, speaking, and researching during his internship with New York City Council Member Daniel Dromm, and the CUNY mentorship program Malave Leadership Academy. Zulfiqar has always advocated for American conservative values, which include him canvassing in over five states for different Republican candidates during the 2020 general elections. Zulfiqar hopes to turn New York State red in the coming years by bringing back traditional conservative minorities to start voting based on their innate beliefs.
